Joe Dechant

Joe Dechant is Vice President of Product Transformation within TNS’s Communications Market business and is based at TNS’s office in Overland Park, Kansas. In his role, Joe is responsible for accelerating product innovations that support carriers transitioning from legacy products. His main objective is to transform, automate and transition product/customer relationships to new solutions.

Joe states that his favorite elements of his role are the long-standing relationships he has developed with customers and colleagues, as well as keeping up with the evolution of technologies in the telecommunications sector. Some of the main areas of focus of Joe’s current role are leading the decommissioning of TDM/SS7 (3G), carrier network transition to IMS/ Cloudnative managed services, and simplifying interconnects for mobile/wireline and MSO networks.

With more than 25 years industry experience, Joe began his career at Illuminet in 1998 after gaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications Management from DeVry Institute of Technology. Illuminet was subsequently acquired by VeriSign and Joe continued to progress his career at this organization holding various positions within operations planning and solutions architecture.

Joe joined TNS in 2009 following the company’s acquisition of VeriSign’s Communications Services Group. During his time at TNS, Joe has held several senior roles within the product and solutions management team before being appointed to his current role in 2023. Committed to the development of the telecommunications industry, Joe represents TNS on ATIS Board of Directors and is often called on to speak at industry events and conferences.

During his spare time, Joe enjoys watching his children participate in activities such as sports, academics and music, as well as taking family vacations to Florida.
