Transaction Network Services (TNS) is pleased to announce that George Zirkel has been appointed as Senior Vice President, North America, for the Payment Markets. In this newly formed role, George will lead the North America market and continue to have responsibility for leading South America.
George joined TNS in 2016 as Senior Vice President and Head of Global Payments Strategy. In 2019, following the successful acquisition of Link Solutions in Brazil, he also assumed the responsibilities of General Manager for the South America region. Over the past five years, George has driven significant growth and development in the Brazilian market, positioning TNS as a key player in the region’s competitive and innovative payments landscape.
With more than 20 years of experience in the payments industry, George has held several prominent positions at First Data Corporation. His roles included six years as Vice President of Innovation, Mobile, and Advanced Solutions, where he led a team responsible for mobile commerce, loyalty, and personalized marketing initiatives. He also spent five years as Vice President of International Corporate Development, supporting mergers, acquisitions, and strategy development.
In his expanded role at TNS, George will work closely with the team to drive TNS’ growth strategy in both North America and South America and support customers at an executive level.

George holds an MBA in International Finance and a BS in Accounting from St John’s University, New York.
