TNS Joins Financial Crime & Cybersecurity Forum Fireside Chat to Tackle Pressing Issue; Company to Exhibit Branding and Call Authentication Suite

RESTON, Va. – September 1, 2026 – Transaction Network Services (TNS)

WHAT:

Bad actors are increasingly spoofing financial institutions’ own phone numbers to impersonate them and defraud customers, turning a trusted communications channel into a growing fraud vector. As consumers are inundated with fraudulent calls, or become victims of bank impersonation scams, they can become wary of even legitimate outreach from their financial institutions.

That erosion of trust has consequences beyond the initial fraud attempt: customers may ignore legitimate fraud alerts, account-security notifications, payment reminders and other time-sensitive communications. To help the industry confront this growing threat, TNS will exhibit and speak at the Financial Crime & Cybersecurity Forum, September 15-16, 2026, at the Westin Charlotte in Charlotte, N.C.

WHO:

As part of the event, TNS Director Andrew Geisen will participate in a fireside chat  titled “Your Phone Number May Be Working Against You Because Someone Else Is Using It!”

The session will explore how bad actors spoof trusted phone numbers to impersonate financial institutions. It will also examine the authentication and identity challenges embedded in voice communications, from caller authentication and phone reputation scoring to technologies that prevent unauthorized use of institutional phone numbers.

According to Geisen: “Financial institutions rely on outbound calls for critical customer interactions, but fraud and spoofing have eroded trust in the voice channel. By applying the same protections used for digital identity and leveraging verified branded calling, banks can help customers identify legitimate calls, restore trust and reduce fraud.”

WHY:

Financial institutions remain among the most targeted industries for telecom fraud. When fraudsters spoof or impersonate a trusted business phone number, the damage doesn’t stop at the scam itself. Consumers report the calls as spam, call analytics providers flag the number and soon legitimate outreach from that same number gets mislabeled, blocked or ignored altogether. What began as a fraud incident becomes a customer engagement crisis, resulting in lower answer rates, eroded trust and rising mitigation costs. As a leading provider of mission-critical communications and fraud-prevention solutions, TNS helps financial institutions rethink how they secure every customer interaction – combining caller authentication and phone number reputation intelligence to stop fraud with branded calling technology that makes legitimate calls more recognizable, helping customers know who’s calling and feel confident answering.
